18 Jan 2025 · Mieze, Metuge

As part of the humanitarian response to the effects of Cyclone Chido in Cabo Delgado province, Girl Child Rights (GCR), with the support of UNFPA, distributed dignity kits in Metuge district, in the Mieze administrative post.

Who the kits were for

The distribution was intended for women and girls affected by the cyclone. The kits provide essential hygiene and personal care items, to ensure the well-being and dignity of women and girls during the recovery period.

When a community loses homes and belongings, these needs become harder to meet. The kits seek to cover them while families recover.

Part of a wider response

The delivery of the kits is one of the components of the effort to reduce the challenges that local communities face after the cyclone.
