On 18 October 2023, the activists and champions hired under the ResiNorte project for the prevention of and response to gender-based violence (GBV) were introduced in Nangade district, in Cabo Delgado province.
The project is implemented by Girl Child Rights (GCR) in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and funded by the European Union.
Why a formal introduction
The newly hired activists and champions were formally introduced to the local authorities and to the whole community of the district. The aim of this introduction was to ensure local recognition, collaboration and acceptance of the people who will work with GCR on GBV prevention and response in Nangade.
With the formal introduction, the authorities and the population came to know, from the outset, the people who will work on GBV prevention and response in the district, as GCR’s partners.
The community’s response
The community committed to supporting the activists’ work in the district.
